How long have you been with MOLN?
I have been with MOLN for about 5 years and on the Professional Development Committee since 2023.
Do you have a favorite MOLN memory so far?
The conferences have by far been my favorite memories. Each of the conferences have had a special way of filling my cup. Whether it was watching our large group do chair yoga or sharing learnings in small group discussions, the dedication and focus on growth through these conferences is an inspiration to me. I am always in awe of the experience and strong leaders that I have been able to connect and learn from during these conferences.
How do you cope with the demanding aspects of your career?
One of the best ways I have found to cope with the stressful components of healthcare and nursing leadership is to focus on my long-term goal of providing the best care possible for our patients. When I transitioned to leadership, I recognized that my way to help our patients is to make sure my team is well taken care of so they are able to be their best selves at the bedside. Because of this, I always bring my focus back to the care of my team when I start to feel overwhelmed or stressed. As most of my career has been within the mental health field, I also put a large focus on self-care and make sure to role model this to my team, peers, and patients.
Who inspires you?
I have had many inspiring mentors in my own life, both professionally and personally. I have found that the best way to grow as an individual is to soak up the knowledge and experience around you, always looking for opportunities to learn from others to take my team and leadership to the next level. Thankfully, my organization has many fantastic leaders that I have been able to learn and grow with as well as the leaders I have met throughout MOLN.
What is something that not many people know about you?
I have a floral design degree & I have six kids ranging from 3 years old up to 27 years old! 😊.
