How long have you been with MOLN?

I have been a member of MOLN for 8 years, currently serve on the board as the District B rep, and am a member of the Professional Development Committee.

Do you have a favorite MOLN memory so far?

Serving on the MOLN Board has been an incredibly rewarding experience. I’ve loved planning conferences and connecting with nurse leaders from across the state. The opportunity to network, build relationships, and collaborate with such inspiring professionals has truly been the highlight of my involvement. Being part of this dynamic organization continues to motivate and energize me in my nursing leadership journey.

How do you cope with the demanding aspects of your career?

Take things one day at a time. I stay grounded focusing on the purpose of nursing leadership, leaning on peers and mentors for support, and feel very grateful my role allows me to support teams and work to improve patient care.  I always find a walk after work helps keep things in perspective and supports self-care.

Who inspires you?

I find inspiration in all of the nursing leaders I interact with—whether through committees, direct teams, or board work. I truly value the opportunity to learn from others and grow through those shared experiences.

What is something that not many people know about you?

I'm deathly afraid of snakes. On my first kayaking trip with my mother-in-law on Lake Superior, I discovered a snake wrapped around my foot in the bottom of my kayak. I panicked, threw my paddles—almost hitting her—and jumped into the water, swimming back to shore and abandoning the kayak (and the snake)!
