How long have you been with MOLN?

About 2.5 years. When I started my first leadership position as a Patient Care Supervisor, I had a one-on-one meeting with our CNO and she told me about MOLN at that time. I think I signed up immediately that week!

Do you have a favorite MOLN memory so far?

I can’t say I have one specific favorite MOLN memory, but I always enjoy the conferences. The content and presenters always have wonderful content that helps me grow as a leader and gives me a renewed energy to make change, but most importantly, I love the memories and experiences I get to have with my colleagues outside of work!

How do you cope with the demanding aspects of your career?

I try to always come back to the “why” of what we do and the reason I chose to become a leader. As a newer leader, I also thankfully have the most supportive leadership team that I often connect with and talk through difficult situations with – whether I need advice or just a listening ear. When the weather is nice, I also try to get out and take a walk which helps to calm my mind on stressful days, or helps provide clarity or creativity to tackle current issues, projects, etc. I am working on.

Who inspires you?

There are many people who inspire me, but my previous leader/Nurse Manager Meghan is someone who I look up to and aspire to lead like. She has taught me many important fundamentals to being a great leader such as successfully leading a team and building trust, keeping an open mind to improve the success of your unit whether that be for staff, patient populations, or practices, and advocating for having a healthy balance between work and personal life.

What is something that not many people know about you?

I pursued degrees in Elementary Education and Accounting before finally taking the plunge into Nursing. Best thing I ever did!
