My purpose for applying for the Chair of the Marketing and Communications Committee is to continue to elevate the Minnesota Organization of Leaders in Nursing (MOLN) through social media, our website, and other communication platforms. It is important to further advance the strategic voice and visibility of MOLN. Brief Biography:
I have been an active member of the Marketing and Communications Committee since July 2023. I began my healthcare career at 18 as a nursing assistant in my hometown of Mankato, Minnesota. My passion for nursing was inspired by two influential figures in my life—my dad and my Grandma D. A remarkable woman, Grandma D raised seven children and had ten grandchildren. At 65, she pursued her lifelong calling and became an LPN, driven by her deep love for caring for others. As I shared in my April 2024 Featured Member of the Month spotlight, my path into nursing wasn’t direct—but it was purposeful. My dad always reminded me, “You have a goal. Stick to it.” That message continues to guide me today, as I set ambitious goals and follow through until I achieve them. My educational journey has been diverse and enriching. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the College of Saint Benedict/Saint John's University, followed by an Associate Degree in Nursing from Anoka-Ramsey Community College. I then completed my Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Minnesota State University, Mankato, and later earned a Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. Since 2012, I’ve had the privilege of working at HealthPartners. I started at Regions Hospital in 2012 as a mental health associate on an inpatient mental health unit, then transitioned to a patient care assistant (PCA) while attending nursing school. From there, I became a floor nurse, then a charge nurse, and eventually a nurse manager—all on the same unit where I had once been a PCA. In August 2024, I stepped into a new leadership role as Clinical Nursing Director at Methodist Hospital, where I now have the honor of leading a team of exceptional leaders who support two general medicine units, one oncology/general medicine unit, and a video safety assistant unit.

If elected, what will you bring to the Minnesota Organization of Leaders in Nursing:

If elected, what will you bring to the Minnesota Organization of Leaders in Nursing:

If elected, I will bring a frontline perspective rooted in emergency medicine, a strong commitment to professional governance, and a deep passion for advancing bedside nursing practice. With six years of progressive leadership experience—from charge nurse to Patient Care Supervisor—I understand the challenges nurses face on the ground, especially in high-pressure environments like the emergency department.

I bring a collaborative spirit and proven leadership through my roles as chair of both our Unit Practice Council and our hospital's Professional Governance Council. I will advocate for policies and initiatives that support nurse development, enhance workplace safety, and foster a culture where all nurses feel empowered to lead from where they stand.

As a District Representative, I will work to ensure that the voices of bedside nurses are heard at the state level and that MOLN remains connected to the real-time needs and innovations happening within our hospitals and communities.
