Nursing Certification
Nurse leaders, are you considering certification? Many nurses pursue certification as recognition of their commitment to obtaining specialized knowledge, skills and experience. Both the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE) and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) offer two certifications geared toward nurse leaders. AONE offers the Certified in Executive Nursing Practice (CENP) and the Certified Nurse Manager and Leader (CNML), while ANCC offers the Nurse Executive and Nurse Executive Advanced. Both the AONE and ANCC websites contain many resources, including eligibility criteria, candidate handbooks, and FAQs.

While AONE offers an extensive candidate handbook and suggested readings, ANCC offers both in person and telephone conference call certification review courses. Please consider validating your high level of knowledge and skill by becoming certified.
